Mountain Mama Goods is not just about bread; it’s about sharing knowledge and building a stronger, more connected community. That’s why I started offering sourdough baking classes to our community, sharing the secrets of creating the perfect loaf and fostering a love for the craft. These classes, held once a month, have brought together fellow bread enthusiasts, and I’m thrilled to see how the joy of baking has united us.
Every loaf of sourdough I bake, every class I teach, and every moment spent with our local community brings me one step closer to realizing our dream of adopting a fourth child. The funds I raise through Mountain Mama Goods are being set aside, patiently waiting for the day we begin the adoption process, a journey we plan to embark on in 2024.

A few words about Kristen, and how her passion turned into a local business...
Where my passion for baking meets my love for family and community.
My journey with Mountain Mama Goods began in October of 2021, but my love for baking and providing my family with delicious, wholesome bread goes way back. The idea of sharing the goodness of sourdough bread with our local community sprouted from a deep desire to adopt a fourth child. With my husband working tirelessly to provide for our growing family, I knew I had to find a way to contribute both to our family’s financial well-being and our dream of expanding our family.
The spark of inspiration came when I shared my dream with my husband, who wholeheartedly embraced it and encouraged me to take my passion for sourdough bread to the next level. And so, with determination and a heart full of hope, I embarked on a journey of perfecting the art of sourdough baking, one batch at a time.
The early days were filled with experimentation, trial, and error. I poured my heart into each loaf, relentlessly seeking ways to make them even better. Slowly but surely, word spread about the irresistible aroma and unmatched flavor of my sourdough bread. I still remember my very first customers, and I am grateful for their trust and support, which served as the foundation for what Mountain Mama Goods is today.
As the seasons changed, so did my small home kitchen operation. Summer brought with it the opportunity to participate in local farmers’ markets, allowing me to connect directly with the wonderful people in our community. The demand for my sourdough creations grew, and to meet this demand, I invested in a Simply Bread Oven, enabling me to bake on a much larger scale without compromising on quality.
